Tele-health Assessments
Some assessments are available to be conducted via tele-health. Tele-health sessions are similar to using Skype or Face Time. The session is done “live” and both parties are able to see and hear each other in real time. Depending upon the requirements of the assessment or the intended use, some assessments must be done in office.

Substance Abuse Evaluations
Substance Abuse Evaluations (SAE) include a clinical interview and self-report assessments and usually take 45 minutes to complete if all forms are completed in advance. After the session, the assessments are scored and interpreted, then a report is written combing the information gained during the clinical interview and the results of assessments.
If the assessment is court ordered, the results will be sent directly to the requesting entity. I currently work with Denton County and Collin County probation departments, and have experience working with pre-trial needs.
Often, reports can be accepted for other counties throughout the state of Texas. Your needs will be discussed during scheduling to ensure the report meets the needs of the requesting party prior to assessment.

Psychological Evaluations
Psychological Evaluations include a clinical interview and self-report assessments, sometimes completed on a computer in office. The clinical interview time can vary depending upon the need of the assessment, but often takes less than an hour to complete if all forms are completed in advance. The second portion is assessment. Assessment may be done by “pen and paper” or on a computer depending upon which assessment is being used.
After the session, the assessments are scored and interpreted, then a report is written combing the information gained during the clinical interview and the results of assessments. Follow-up appointments to discuss results and recommendations are available.*
Court Ordered-If the assessment is court ordered, the results will be sent directly to the requesting entity. I currently work with Denton County and Collin County probation departments, and have experience working with pre-trial needs. To learn more about Forensic Services click here.

IQ or Intelligence Test, Cognitive Assessments
What is an IQ Test?
A person’s intelligence quotient or IQ, is the total score of several standardized tests designed to measure human intelligence. An IQ test serves as a psychological measure of an individual’s intelligence level relative to a population.
Valid IQ tests measure intelligence in two areas: verbal and performance. Most tests used measure aspects of visual-spatial processing and auditory processing, as well as short-term memory, and processing speed.
IQ tests measure both crystallized and fluid intelligence. Crystallized intelligence refers to the skills and knowledge one has acquired through life, while fluid intelligence refers to a person’s problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
Testing Information
There are multiple excellent tests available and depending upon your intended use, the appropriate assessment will be administered. Some assessments are longer and more in depth and others brief and provide general overview of functioning.
Testing usually takes a few hours and breaks will be provided. Typically a clinical interview is done prior to the start of the assessment to provide any relevant information in advance and to support the results obtained for the report. The report is not just numbers, but an interpretation. Numbers without context have little meaning!
Testing is available for ages 6 and up. Some tests will require a consultation prior and can often be done via phone.
